How it began
Like so many American dreams, our story began with a humble beginning.
With an unfortunate separation between his parents, Zach Pecunes (founder), AKA Pecks, was unsure about what the road ahead was going to look like for his family. His father, in a super competitive market, looked to buy a house while is mom settled for renting from a land lord. Zach, like any loving son would, tried to be the best help that he could be.
His father’s house was originally built 1984 and was a 2 bedroom 1 bath rancher with a single car garage. With Zach having 3 other siblings, this was not ideal but, they were determined to make the most of what they had. With the help of his dad along with some really great friends, they transformed the the house into a 4 bedroom 2 bathroom with an large open concept eat-in-kitchen.
This is where it all began for Zach. He had found is passion for building amidst learning valuable life lessons.
It wasn’t just his father who he learned these lessons from though. His mom had to make due with what was a competitive area for renters. Zach wanted to help, when needed to diagnose any problems that arose within the house with his construction knowledge. Graciously, his mom also let him use the garage in return to start, at the time, a wood working side hustle. This is where he learned the importance of making agreements and the idea of trading services.
With a combination of building knowledge and helping people, the idea of Pecks was born.
He accumulated tools and began taking on any work that he could. Lots of hours were put into small woodworking projects like corn hole boards, shelves, custom flower vases, and other home decor items. These were his first handful of jobs that he took just to get his name out into the community. From there, Pecks had networked a lot with the people in town and found larger jobs such as restoring a deck and adding a roof over a porch. This is what got the ball rolling on many larger jobs such full bath/bedroom remodels, basement completion projects, and outdoor maintenance jobs.
This is just the beginning for Pecks. Pecks looks to provide services to families, home owners, and real estate investors all over Southern York County.
With every job completed, Pecks reflects back on his humble beginnings and pushes to bring the same feeling of inclusion and gratitude he once felt by supporting his family in times of need. Pecks looks forward to the future and bringing value to a large customer base with “Precision In Every Peck.”
